First check if you have properly configured your device:
- The APN is set to “em”
- The device has data roaming enabled
Apart from the device configuration and any signaling coming from the SIM, the proper configuration needs to be set on the EMnify User Interface (EUI):
- The SIM, plugged in the device, has to be assigned to an endpoint
- The endpoint, to which the SIM is assigned needs to have a Service and a Tariff Profile assigned
Also, you can check the event log provided in the EUI by clicking on the alert bell icon on the upper right corner. In case your device tries to attach to a mobile network or country that it is not permitted to, the notification will be displayed, showing that your device has been rejected:
Location update rejected from VLR 123456789 for IMSI 901431234567890, this operator is not part of the selected coverage.
Once this is achieved, the device shall be able to perform the network registration at first – the SIM status will become "Attached", showing the network the device has attached to. At this stage:
- SMS can be sent and received by the MS
- USSD transmissions are possible
- PDP context/data channel can be requested by the device
