In order to send or receive SMS (from a mobile phone or from the SMS console) please make sure that basic configuration is completed. If you still experience issues, please select your current situation:

Basic troubleshooting for any SMS scenario
Please ensure that SMS are enabled on /Device Policies / Service Policies / name of the policy
- If your devices must send or receive SMS, please make sure that Devices may send SMS (SMS MO) and / or Devices may receive (SMS MT) from anyone are activated
- If the SMS are to be sent or received from / to non-EMnify SIM cards, please activate Devices are allowed to exchange SMS with external parties.
I am having issues sending SMS to my devices from the User Interface (A2P SMS)
In case you are trying to send an SMS to your connected devices from the EMnify User Interface, please make sure that the Connected Device is enabled (1) and either Attached or Online (2). If both conditions are met, you can open the SMS console
Once the SMS console is open, enter the payload in the Message text field. In the From field, you can enter any alphanumerical value. Keep in mind that some devices will only accept numerical values.
If everything is correct and your device still cannot receive SMS, please contact our Customer Support Team.
I am having issues sending SMS to my devices from an external mobile phone (P2P SMS)
Please verify that the Service Policy (/Device Policies / Service Policies) assigned to the SIM card that should receive the SMS has activated the following items:
Please use the number next to the MSISDN field (+423 XXXXXXX) as the destination number. This is available under the "Connected devices" menu.
If your device is powered on and still cannot receive SMS sent from an external mobile phone, please contact our Customer Support Team, providing the following information:
Sender number (A#):
Operator where A# belongs to:
EMnify SIM card (B#): ICCID or MSISDN
Operator where the EMnify SIM is registered at the time the SMS was sent:
Time the message was sent with Time Zone:

It was working fine until recently, now it won't connect anymore. The card is still in the controller.
What can I do?

For this specific case, please submit a support ticket using the link in the upper right corner (submit a request), providing ICCID, and a detailed description of the issue.
