Data limit - is it per device or for all pooled data

    Hi Robert,

The data limit is per device, there is no option to set a limit for the pooled data. Once a device reaches the limit, our systems will block any attempt to establish a data session, but you can always update the limit or assign a new service policy with a higher limit.

    Hi Jorge,

I was just making the same question.

It will be an essential feature to have a limit for the pooled data.

Without this, to have the pooled data feature, i can only leave the devices without limit, risking that the pool gets all consumed and I go further into pay-per-consume zone.

Otherwise, i can set a limit but only per device, and in this way the pooled data feature cannot be used.

    Can you think about this?

    Thank you,

    Francesco Milanese

    Hi Francesco,

Unfortunately this is not a feature we support today. However, you can always request new features from the portal:

Our Product team will review your request and contact you if they need further information.

    Kind regards

I think the policy might have changed, because now the tariff page says:

"Adaptive Data Pool: The data volume is shared between all devices. As soon as another device gets activated, the pool increases. Each device can dispose of the full pool capacity. Excess consumption will be billed per MB."

So if I set the average device consumption per month to 10MB, with 3 devices the data pool totals 30MB. Any one device can consume up to 30MB, assuming the other two have zero consumption. Beyond that, it'd be charged as excess consumption.

    Is the above interpretation correct?

    Hi Felipe,

The policy has not changed, it remains the same: You can set a limit per device, but you cannot set a limit for the data pool.

Your example regarding the data pool is correct. Assuming you have three devices with 10MB included, if two devices have zero consumption, the third one can consume 30MB at no extra cost. However, you cannot set a limit to block these SIM cards when 30MB has been reached, because the limit applies per SIM, not per data pool.

    Thanks for the confirmation, Jorge.

So there are no hard limits, per SIM/device nor per pool.

Any one SIM or device can exceed the pre-selected average quota.

As long as the pooled quota is not exceeded, there won't be extra charges (per MB).

And the average SIM consumption quota selected during plan subscription is always pooled.

    Thanks!
