It is possible to block certain operators or countries for an individual device, or a group of devices. IMPORTANT: Adding a network to the 'Blocked Operators' list will not prevent your devices from attempting connect to it. You will still see these attempts in the events tab, but our Mobile Core will reject any connection attempt. This feature should only be used to resolve technical issues associated with specific operators.
The most effective way of blocking an operator is by blocking it on your device. This prevents the device from attempting to attach to the network.
HOW TO BLACKLIST OPERATORS ON A SPECIFIC DEVICE
- Go to the "Connected Devices" menu
- Select the Connected Device for which you want to blacklist an operator, then click on "Details"
- Scroll down to the "Blocked Operators" menu and select the operator you want to block.
To remove an operator from the list, click on "Edit", then click on the X next to the blocked operator.
Note: You can also select multiple devices on the platform and update the Blocked Operators list for all of them simultaneously. This can also be done via API.
HOW TO BLACKLIST OPERATORS AND RADIO ACCESS TYPES FOR A GROUP OF SIM CARDS
It is possible to block operators (or countries) in your coverage policy. By doing this, any Connected Device using this specific Coverage Policy will not connect to this operator. Remember that you can create multiple coverage policies and block operators or radio access types in certain policies.
- Go to the Device Policies menu
- Scroll down to the Coverage Policies section
- Select the policy in which you wish to block operators or radio access types
- Click on details
Scroll down to the Coverage List section. You can block specific countries by selecting the option on the right side of each country:
Clicking on each country allows you to block specific networks or certain radio access types:
NOTE: Blocking will apply only to the devices using this policy. Once a network is blocked, any new attempt to connect to the network will be rejected, but existing connections will not be affected.
